Evan joined Ride Culture Racing for the Anglesey 12 Hour on their KTM 990 RCR, qualifying P1 in both of his qualifying sessions before helping bring #73 home third in class.

The Journey So Far...

Evan’s first endurance race very nearly didn’t happen. We’d turned down previous invitations to protect the mileage on the R6 during a full sprint season. Then Tom got in touch about the No Limits Racing 12 Hour at Anglesey, and made the offer that changed our minds:

“I don’t want Evan to ride his bike. I want him to ride my KTM 990 RCR.”

Evan joined Tom Drew, Rodger Lovelace and Daniel Brown on Ride Culture Racing’s #73 for Round 5 of the National & NL Endurance Championship, a different series to Evan’s own sprint season.

Qualifying – Friday

Endurance qualifying at Anglesey is split by rider letter, and Evan went out as Rider D.

His first session lasted two laps before an unavoidable incident brought it to an early end. Two laps was still enough for P1 in the Team Sport Rider D class, a 1:36.945. He went out again later in the day and went quicker, setting a 1:35.440 and finishing P1 in class for the second time that day. Not bad for his first weekend riding the KTM, with less than 38½ hours of race seat time behind him.

Ride Culture Racing lined up 12th on the grid for the race.

Race Day – Saturday

Four riders shared #73 across the full twelve hours. Ride Culture Racing completed 411 laps, finishing 14th overall and third in the Team Sport class, a single lap off the class runner-up. Their best lap of the race, a 1:33.990, was the fastest lap of any Team Sport class entry.

Third in class, in his first weekend on the KTM.

A huge thank you to Tom and everyone at Ride Culture Racing for the loan of the KTM and for putting their faith in Evan.
